went to the bathroom, turned on my phone to do some reading and there's a pair of chevelle buckets listed for sale for $125. didn't even get off the pot, made a call and was out the door in a minute! its got custom red cloth upholstery that I'm going to dye black and maybe toss them in the 66, believe me, come summer, cloth is alot nicer than vynle. So deals are out there.jim

I did the same about 3 years back, perfect reupholstered '66 buckets...$350. Seller was on his phone non-stop while I was picking them up. Guys were bidding me up, but the seller was true. They're also red cloth inserts. I would never re-dye seats Jim, it would need to be color-fast, and you don't need to have the wife po'ed at you after her ars is blackened.

all I can tell, 69 to 72, release in the middle. i see the headrest hardware under the upholstery. no release on top of the seats for the headrests. jim

too bad both my cars have black interiors. but these are the buckets. looking under it, all the springs look great. They were in a 57 chevy, owner wanted a correct bench seat so he had no use for the buckets. jim

funny thing, I have a guy picking up the early chevelle back seats this morning. he texted me asking if I had a set of later buckets for sale. I would probably regret selling it, but if he pulls out enough $$$ anything is negotiable. jim

already have stock vynle bucket seats in the 66 and 70 chevelle. the only us side of these is the cloth. believe me, when its 112 degrees outdoors those plastic seats get a bit sweaty sitting on them. jim

Lucky you were first. There are a lot of folks on craigslist that must watch it by the minute.
I placed a free add for a diagnostic center yesterday and the email's came bombarding in within minutes of it being posted. There's a guy out there right now trying to get it stuffed into a Taurus.

Helluva lot better deal than the seats I bought to put in my El. I paid $350 for them and the upholstery was completely shot. Shells and springs are good though... at least from what I remember. They've been in the attic for 10 years now! Someday they'll go in the car.
