Hi all,
Just got my Lemons headers ceramic coated. They look way better, very happy with them. Im hoping to get some words of wisdom for reinstalling them. favorite gasket, what to use between pipes and collector, tricks for not banging them up during install. Im assuming gloves to prevent fingerprints etc. These are 2 1/8" pipes and 4" collector . Any info I would greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Very nice. Where’d you get them done? I’ve used old t shirts and duct tape to wrap coated headers when installing. Get the front end up real high and take your time from the bottom. Good luck

Contact Lemons for the installation instructions. They do not install like most other headers because many of the tubes are separated. You need to know the installation sequence. The collector is installed after all of the tubes have been installed and not tight. After the collector is installed you can tighten the header bolts. If you do it before, you will have a hell of a time installing the collectors. I have 2" primary, 3.5" collector Lemons on my smallblock. They fit great but you need to install them in the right sequence.

I have 2 inch Lemons on my 69 with a 496. Never knew it was an option to get a set of Lemons with the individual tubes and unattached collectors. Mine are all one piece and one has to be a magician to install them. They are extremely difficult to install and to the point I said if I ever have to remove them again ( done it twice ) that they wouldn't be going back on. They fit very well when installed but it's getting them installed that's the problem. Yes they get all boogered up during the install.
Maybe I should look into getting them modified as the ones in this thread are if I ever remove them again??? Anyone else experience this?

I had my headers recoated by Jet Hot when I put my MJ engine in, one tube comes apart because they are 2 1/8 inch it makes it a lot easer for me to get them in and out.

It says on their website you may have to raise the engine to install some parts, seems like a nightmare but they are really nice headers.

If you want to really protect the headers, use masking tape then cover over with duct tape. The masking tape won't leave residue like duct tape will. The duct tape will give you a small cushion that won't tear like the masking tape. Good luck, they look amazing!

As far as gasket I've always had great luck with felpro graphite type gaskets and 2 step torque procedure, but unsure if they sell them for 2 1/8"?

Both times I installed my Lemons I was also installing my engine so I had it lifted plenty. My guess is it is not possible to install my Lemons without raising the engine.
I know I am not the only one experiencing difficulty as I had another member contact me and ask me how I was able to install them especially without marking them all up.

Hi Brad, there is no way my headers will go in without lifting the engine.

Ya these headers only work being individual pieces because 2 primaries go on one side of the frame and 2 on the other.
