Ok, went yesterday and had exhaust installed. I installed the 70 series FlowMaster #53071 and a flow free tail pipe (I guess thats what they are called) and a chrome tipe 3" slip and 3.5" open at tip. At first they removed the second cat. and my wife drove it home, she said it is a little loud, but if you like it fine. Well I didn't, so I went back and had them install the second cat (I keep it just in case) and it sounds pretty good now. Looks good too. I also stayed with a 3" pipe as that was stock. I looked at the second cat. convert. and it was plugged about 5% nothing black, it was silver with like little seeds I guess. Otherwise looked good. Didn't see the front one. Just thought I would share. The new muffler was the same length as the old one(22" long). The muffler guy said it looked like it was all stock. Pretty good for stock I guess...

Has anyone else noticed this. It smelled like the new exhaust was burning off the coating or something. The muffler guy said that there is a coating it is burning off, its ok. Since the first day and 50 miles later, about 90% of its gone. It doesn't smell like exhaust, like something is burning. I went with the cat back/muffler/tail pipe (aluminized pipe) is this why?
