Just read on another forum that Gary Sharkey a.k.a. GOSFAST has recently passed away. Never met the man but talked to him a few times over the phone. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help with my questions on big block chevys'. He posted here quite a bit in the performance section. Rest in peace brother

I posted what is below in the Bench Racing section Looking for Gary, when I learned he had passed. I too, never met the man.
But, Talked to him numerous times on the phone. He sounded like a true friend you would always want. I had asked for some one to do a welfare check on Gary and jrs396 came through.

"I knew Gary was battling bladder cancer and with him bring off-line, I feared the worst. Now you have confirmed my fears.
I just wish there was something I could do for his wife Helen and family, But, being 3000 miles away makes it difficult.
May Gary rest in peace knowing he has completed his journey enriching the lives of others he has touched.

Rest in peace Gary. May God Bless You! "

I only spoke with Gary once however we PM'd each other a couple times and I'm going to try using the recommendations he told me about the BBC.
This thread
about "the stepped nose cam in early block" is Gary's creation at his finest,I believe.I'm sure those who knew him and worked closer with him, knew about the many more innovations that Gary came up with.
RIP GosFast

Gary built the motor i have in my Chevelle. I remember my father and I going back and forth to his home shop with a 454 block, heads, headers etc in the trunk of what was at the time my shiny new 2016 impala. It was always a trip seeing all the little bits of muscle car heaven he was tooling with in his garage. Ill miss those visits. RIP.
