I've looked at a few books about HP chevy engines and they spent too much time on newer and blown race engines.

I'm looking for something that goes into great detail for the older (1966) engines and doesn't cover just drag motors, more along the lines of street performance.

I'm looking for one that covers details like head/valve selection, cam selection, block prep ...

any one know of a good detailed book for this?
Thanks, KarlJay.

there are several engine tech books available that cover older engines and cylinder heads, cranks and such.i have around 7-8 in my library,David Vizard has authored almost all of them, check out your local bookstore.i got all mine at Books-A-Million.How to hotrod Smallblock Chevy's is a classic.I doubt you'll find anything that covers only the 1966 engines though.
