I’m listing the following VIN #’s because transmission or transmission case for these vehicles has been Found. I know very, very little about engine castings and stampings. The list may contain Vin's from GM vehicles from the 50’s through the 80’s such as Corvettes, Chevelles, Camaros, Novas, GTO’s, Cutlass's and everything in-between. I will try to list the numbers for Chevelles only, but if I should make a mistake, please take the time to let me know. I had no idea Malibu’s/Chevelles were produced at so many different plants. If you own one of the cars that’s listed, please contact me using the contact info listed next to this post. Why am I doing this? I’m doing this because I myself have spent nearly 30 years searching for the original engines for two of my 1969 Camaro’s which I’ll most likely never find, but like many other devoted classic car owners I am just incapable of giving up on the chase no matter how much easier life would be without it. I recently posted the VIN from a trans-case on two other sites and thanks to some very helpful members, it came back to a known 1969 COPO Camaro. Still waiting for owner contact info, but it’s a great feeling hoping to make a match. Anyway, let’s get started.

OK, I just realized a few mistakes already. I believe that the "W" prefixes are for Novas. I just noticed that I also added into the mix, a 1969 Nova 396 JH coded engine block (509838).
