Just recieved my documentation from GM Canada on my 66 chevelle.With the option package I have it is considered malibu super sport Blue Strato bucket seats,Danube Blue Metallic paint code.Car was sold in Winnipeg originally at Carter Motors Ltd.Production #s 5081.Very cool to know shes never left the province.

Sounds like a nice car. You have to love the GM of Canada documentation. How many does the paperwork say were produced. I know the Malibu Super Sports are pretty rare. There are a couple other members here that own one. One of my favorite cars ever is a 66 Malibu SS owned by CDNSS.

The paperwork says there were 5081 produced for 1966.Car also came with ribbed rocker moldings and lower quarter moldings which I did not know.Also the MalibuSS quarter emblem also unknown to me as when I bought the car those emblems were gone.

I think 5081 would be high for the Malibu SS cars. That may the the entire Canadian Malibu run for the 66 model year. Do you have any pictures you can post? Sounds like a great color combo.

I heard some time ago that GM Canada is not sending any microfiche photo copies from the build run (one page snapshot) anymore, is this true?

I got a letter for my convertible with all the info. No fische copies.

Unfortunatly that is not the color of the car any more it is primer grey right now and will be charcoal grey when its done,with a black interior.The 5081# is the # that is on my option sheet,car is 13617 not 138 but had the SS options A51.

Hey james ........ you kinda correct Actually the 5081 is the number of Malibu's with A51 option ...which is the Malibu SS bucket seat option 136 car any engine ................Your thinking 396 cars and you are right only 499 coupes and convertibles with A51 AND L34 BB engine were built ....... those are the Malibu SS BB cars .your SuperSport


Microfiche no longer sent pbly becuse because it did include the key code and concern was some could get the code info from fiche guys would post on internet and car shows .make a key and steal car ........"if" original lock cylinders still in car ........ too bad cause it showed all the cars / build info also shipped that week I have my fiche ........ pretty sure this shipping fiche is where GM Canada Historical gets all the info they send you .it was the shipping dept that kept the info
