I finally found a new glove box lock for my 70.

I recently read the Team Chevelle technical article regarding this lock swap out:

The picture in the article looks like an older model though.

My question is: Is the procedure I need to follow for a 1970 lock the same as what is shown in the tech article?

The one in the tech ref looked like a metal door to me. That's why I asked. I have not looked at my 70 door closely yet, but I know it's not metal.

Maybe the tech ref door just has paint (from a color change) that is coming off.

Anyone else agree that the tech ref door is off of a 70 (70-72)?
