I posted this already over at HR dot com, but thought you guys would like to see it too.

Well, I got the back half of the car painted pretty much (shell, doors, and trunk)

I let my uncle loose on the stripes, he didn't want me to get a stencil kit....because he likes doing it by hand better, oh well, cheaper that way, and I think they turned out damn good.

I still gotta finish it by the 19th or else it wont make the trailer for georgia, and I'll have to make a road trip out of this and be about a week or two behind schedule....but hey, it might be kinda cool driving a chevelle from ks to ga.

I'll be assembling it tomorrow and will get some more pics if you guys want, I think the silver and black were a nice contrast, and with 20% tint on the windows, it should also look good.

In a better mood now...seems like I'm finally making progress :)

So you are braving it and painting it apart - that's how I have deceided to do mine also, except my doors will stay hung - at least that is the plan. Did you paint eveything at the same time or are you also painting in stages? Have you had any issues with the base coat varying in color if painting separately?

Well, thanks for the great response guys, But I cant take all the credit, first off, I did not paint it, my uncle did, he's been doing body work for years, and has taught me so much about this stuff since I started helping him out around the shop. But I do have lots and lots of time doing body work and learning. LOTS OF BLOCKING it out over and over to get it straight.

As for panel painting, thats the way we decided to do it to make it have no tape lines and give that factory apearance. hasnt been that hard with his help and tips of how to put everything back together and get it all lined up. I have learned theres nothing like lots of 2 inch tape over the areas it might scratch and using paintsticks to help make good gaps.

I've been pulling a late night tonight, puttting on a bunch of trim, and chrome, and windows, and weatherstripping. Been making one great bumper out of two rear bumpers, one of them is almost supurb finish, but has effed up brackets, and the other has great brackets, but looks like crap....just now got it together, bout to hang it now.

Anyway, I'll keep you updated and be sure to post pics :)

I'll just link the pics below, the'y're pretty huge resolution, dont want anybody on dialup to suffer.....plus if it opens in seperate window it should resize to fit the screen, or enlarge so you can see the detail (with xp at least)
