Blew a head gasket on the way home from a cruise night tonight. Lost 20 lbs of oil pressure, oil looks like a freakin milkshake. I hope it didn't damage the bearings. I'm gonna drain the oil tomorrow afternoon and make an assessment. I have a set of head gaskets for it, just a matter of me getting motivated to do it. I wanted to take it to a show tomorrow afternoon too.

I'm gonna pull the heads next week and go from there. I found a running 440 if I need it. I hope the bearings aren't damaged.

Don Lightfoot....this doesn't mean it won't be fixed in a couple weeks ;).

I'm not in the mood tonight, I might just rip it apart tomorrow. Nice thing about the Mopar 440 is you don't have to pull the distributor or all the crap off the front of the engine. The only things that need to come off are the headers and intake manifold.

You shouldn't have JUMPED onto the freeway. :)

Good luck, I'm sure it's not as bad as it seems.

Ron
It still starts though Ron :p. I drained the oil tonight, about 15 minutes ago actually. There are traces of coolant in the oil. I'm going to put some Rotella T in it tomorrow, run it and see what happens.

drain that milkshake out, then put a gallon of diesel. Then flush out, then add oil, then flush that out. Don't forget to turn the oil pump as that will have the milkshake in it also.

the diesel mixes well with the milk and when you flush it out it brings it with it. Regular oil seperates with it, and the milky stuff stays.
