I have a TH400 and whould like an overdrive gear. I was wanting to do this without changing to a 700R4. The Gear Vendors set up is sweet and ideal, but a little on the pricey side.

My question is, is there another product that works like Gear Vendor that is a little cheaper in price? or is there some way to get overdrive without 700R4?

Thanks,
Cody

I'd said this a number of times - price isn't out of line for a GV unit, given the durability. To handle your current power levels assuming a big block, and also future potential power levels if/when you upgrade, a GV will be a perfect choice. Plus, it's one heck of a lot of fun to use, too.

To beef up a 200 or 700, you'll be spending quite a bit of cash also.

But, there are other options - GV's can be taken off your current vehicle and saved for your next one. Likewise, you can buy used GV's a lot cheaper, and they are typically bulletproof enough to just get cleaned up.

Only drawback, if you need to call it that, is that the OD gear is not as steep as a typical overdrive tranny - IF that's a concern for you.
