I am puttting a gas tank on a 69 and i'm not sure what is need on the two vent lines. Do you leave them open or plug them with a certain vent part.

I heard that if you plug the vent line, vaccuum caused from the pump sucking gas out of the tank can collapse it.

I plugged them on my 69 because I didn't have the vent trap thingy but if I had it to do over again I would find some way to leave them open

It doesn't pull a vacuum on the tank, what it does do is build up pressure

If I drive for long distances and stop for gas, when I lossen the cap, the pressure almost blows the cap out of my hand
