I was cleaning up out in the garage today to get it ready to fit the 72, and what do I find but 2 brand spanking new 15x8 Wheel Vintiques Ralleys that I had bought for the 64. I completely forgot about them. Also found the M/T valve covers that I knew I had but didn't know the location of.

What interesting finds have you guys made that you didn't expect? (dead mice don't count)

Uncovered an almost-complete 57 Chevy continental kit that I bought at a garage sale many years ago, then stashed it away and forgot about it.....

I was moving the contents of my stuffed double garage into my new shop and found a brand new framing nailer I don't remember buying. Never used, case never opened. Not really sure where it came from, but it is new.

I'm in the middle of cleaning the garage, in the last few days I've come across some interesting stuff I bought a few years ago from a couple of speed shops which were closing. The next swapmeet should be pretty good.

My issue is not finding stuff I don't have. It is finding stuff I know I have. I tore the front part of my warehouse apart looking for the 70 LS5 carb I know I have, but it is MIA. I did find my 1/70 iron LS5 intake that I have drug to every swap meet I could for the past 15 years. I found 5 12 bolts, but they are in cars. I found all my NOS 70 stuff, small stuff, in the bathroom. Found a set of 66 GTO sitting next to my 65 442. And an entire ac case for the same GTO.

As soon as I finish my 70 (2% done), I will eBay all the crap. There are two complete first gen Montes in there, minus the bodies. Trying to figure out why I am hoarding bucket seats. I have a pair of 71 buckets, no rips, plastic is perfect, just collecting dust.

Found a nice 66 BBC dipstick the other day - I had seen it several times but just ignored it. Would have sworn it was Oldsmobile or Caddy and was about to toss it and decided to check it out.
That was a happy find.

I highly recommend seperate bank accounts. As a 20 year veteran of Marriage Wars, I wouldn't have it any other way. Had a discussion with my Evil Woman last night about how my credit score is so much higher than hers. I gave it to her straight. I don't pay her bills and she doesn't pay mine.

Next time you see here, ask her how much a 2012 Camaro 2SS costs. She has no clue, but she can wheel the damn thing better than me. But coming from a 299k mile 86 Grand Am, she has come a long way.

I agree whole-heartedly. We each contribute a set amount to a joint account that pays for all the household bills and savings. The rest of our money is our own to do with what we want. I don't care if she blows hers on clothes and the latest beaty gimmicks she doesn't say a word about me buying tools, golf, car stuff, stereo equipment, etc. We discuss anything extra we might want for the house, hot holidays and the like, and pay for it out of the savings.

This has been working for 18+ years.
