Need place to hook up new HEI , but Ign. on fuse box is hot all the time. Can't find any wires shorted out every thing looks great. Could it be the Ing. switch or something to do with the grounds.

The IGN terminal shouldn't be hot all the time. Kinda strange. Does the car turn off? The radio and the heater blower go off when you turn the key off? If it does, sounds like the pink ign wire is turning off. Maybe you are measuring the BAT terminal? Are you using a meter to measure this? Have a full 12 volts?

The car does not turn off, also the radio and heater fuse is hot all the time. Have not measured it. Not to good with this electrical stuff. Just thought it was not right when i tried to hook up HEI to it .

Just taking a guess, but try using a test light or a meter on the pink wire from the ignition switch. That should not light up a test light when the switch is off. One side of the test light to the pink, the other side to ground.
If you don't have anything like a MDS box, there shouldn't be any reason the car doesn't turn off. Unless someone has done some odd rewiring in there. What year you working on?

The pink wire does light up with the test light (switch off). Very confused now don't know what to do.

Does the key switch move the rod that moves the ignition switch? It almost sounds like that's the problem. I have not heard of a bad ignition switch that's stuck on making the pink wire hot all the time.
