We went to the first ever Autotrader sponsored Octane in the Outfield car show at Turner Field in Atlanta today. early morning, registration started at 8 am. Bill Burke, DanaB, and Tim went as well. The voting was sort of, well strange to say the least lol.
You were basically allowed to stuff a ballot box. They gave you 5 tickets to vote how ever you wished to do so including putting all 5 in your own box. We were in the Corvette and Chevy class (just like the Autotrader magazines they had 5 classes) There were a whole heck of a lot of Corvettes, 80% probably newer ones. a scattering of Impalas and Camaros and 3 chevelles in our class, Bill's, Dana's and mine. Anyhow Bill, Dana and Tim put all their tickets in my box along with mine which was good enough to fetch me 3rd place in the class.
My reward was that I got to drive my 4 door into and around Turner Field on the warning path in front of the spectators inside. It was way cool!

Thanks Bill, Dana, Tim, it made my day for sure! (and good we kept it from being all corvettes lol)

that was funny John! It really was kind of cool though. As we entered, Mike Gonzalez was standing at the wall signing autographs, he stopped to watch us and he was standing about 3 feet from the car I just said "Hi Mike!" people outside as we drove up were snapping pictures right and left, then tv crews were filming as we were waiting outside to enter as well. All is all with the beautiful weather is was just a dang fun day. (Braves won which made it even better). Considering some of the cars in that line it was interesting to see a good old 4 door daily driver in it. Heck they even had the batmobile!
