The fuel tank on my 71 elky won't fill all the way up. the tank has a hose fitting on each front corner and a fitting in the middle of the front of the tank.all these hoses run to a white plastic box above the fuel tank. the evap canister is gone and the lines are plugged of. I have a vented cap on the tank. I was thinking of using the vent closest to the fill neck as a vent. put a hose on it and run it up to the gas cap area. I was going to to put a differential vent cap on the end of the hose to keep crap out of the tank. any thoughts on this?? I posted this on another section, should have put it on here first I guess. thanks!!

You need to vent the tank.Plugging off the canister plugged the vent.If the filler tube is below the top of the tank it will only fill that high.
