Fuel Pump Relay

I am putting an electric fuel pump into a '75 ElCamino. (LSx engine). I want to use a fuel pump relay that will sense when the engine quits and shut off the pump. I know that many vehicles had this type of relay (I presume that newer vehicles do not use this type of relay, but are controlled by the computer instead).

I'll probably get something out of a wrecking yard - I would like to get a relay AND socket.

Any suggestions as to what vehicles to steal this from? Reliability & availability are the two obvious issues that come to mind.

Again, I'm not looking for a normal relay, but an actual "fuel pump relay" that senses when the engine quits and shuts off the fuel pump.

Thx

Really has nothing do do with the type of relay, but more to how its wired. Like skinning a cat, there are many ways to wire a relay, you can have the fuel pump turn on only when there is oil pressure, only when the key is on, or have to have both key on and oil pressure. Pick the way you want it and me or someone else can show you how.

Most newer cars don't have individual relay sockets, they have box which holds many relays (and fuses). If you only plan on adding this one relay, I would just get a relay kit, if you plan on adding more just take the box (electrical center) from a late model. Search username "vrooom3440" in this forum, I believe he also has pics of his setup.
