What length of Stainless Steel Braid Hose for a 70 Chevelle with rear sump tank would I need 10 ' 15' or 20' foot? What brand of fuel line is the better one for gas? It has been a while since I have set up a new fuel system from scratch.
Thanks Dave.

I think I got the 20' for mine. There are going to be curves and bends so it is good to have more. As far as which hose is good, I think the stainless steel braid all pretty much stink for today's unleaded gas. I have used Aeroquip in my race car for 17 years with race gas, but my friends are lucky if they get 6-7 with unleaded before the gas starts permeating the hose.

I just finished installing Fragola 6000 series Teflon lined hose. I'm using a stock location pickup and routed the line over top of differential, through rear frame where it crosses in front of differential, over to passenger side frame. Near the passenger door I have a inline 100 micron filter, then continued hose run through factory location to pump. I bought 20' originally and I have about 6' left over.

If your going to run pump gas, use a Teflon lined hose. It will outlast the car and will not degrade from fuel. You can run pump gas, race gas, E85 or any other mixture through it. If you need pics of routing I can get some.

Andy Ray Jason, Thanks for the tips. Here is what we are going with for a new fuel system.
Holley #12-1800 fuel pump 2 pumps in one.
Holley # 12-845 regulator
Holley Fuel Filters 2 of them # 162-571 # 162-572
Will use existing -8 AN line as a return line.
With new -10 AN feed line. and-8 lines to carb.

Jason Let me know if you can where you picked up the fuel line you have. Will go with a 20' Sounds like a good one. Thanks Dave

You are flat-out crazy to run that much hose.

Most of that length should be metal tubing, with enough hose on each end to connect to the tank, and to allow for engine shake in the chassis.

Metal tubing is cheaper, more durable, lighter, and less porous than rubber hose, and all of that except the porous part for Teflon-liner hose--but the Teflon-liner hose is even more expensive than rubber-based hose.

I ordered from summit. I just finished running line from pump to carb also and will end up with about 4' left out of 20' section.

I would have run metal but did not feel like bending not to mention could not find in a 5/8" line. Teflon will outlast the car.
