Fuel line cap off or what

1043 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Dean
I'm ripping the carbon canister out of my chevelle, and have it all figured out (not much to it) with the exception of the line that runs to the fuel tank. Should I cap it off, put a check valve on it or what?
thanx,

I'll guess

I would think the hose probably needs to remain open to equalize the pressure in the tank
But I guess if you plug it and the car runs ok with no pressure build up in the tank when you stop after driving several miles it must be ok to plug it

Hopefully someone else will know for sure

Well Bob's reply wasn't there when I replied
but now that he reminded me, We removed the canister from my grandson's 79 Nova and just left the hoses open ended under the hood and there doesn't seem to be any problem with it
