hope you guys can help me with this one. whenever i turn on my lights my fuel guage needle goes to E. any suggestions? maybe i should only drive during the day

For starters check that you have a wire from the battery (-) post to the right inside fender.

Maybe you need an alternator that doesn't create so much load.


I'm gonna have to go with the dash ground for 100 John. Seems like the gauge sneaking a ground through the light.

Keith, you're a nut. Missed another glorious day in the southland. Too bad about the snow. If you don't move home at least we'll toss a shrimp on the barbie for you.

I second the ground wire.

My truck used to do that until I added a ground wire from the back of the metal cluster to the metal dashboard.

Heh, You think its bad that you have to read my posts. I have to put up with it all DAY!

Looking more and more like PA is gonna be home for a long while.

Ah well, at least there's all these Chevelles to help fix.
