Anyone looking for front speakers? Just found some DELCO replacement 4X6 front speakers for my 72SS. 9.5 OHM. I used the L brackets and wire plugs from the old ones.
They cost 6.99 each + shipping (about $20 total).

Do they have square magnets like the originals? I could never find a round magnet speaker that would fit on the drivers side on my 70 dash with round gauges. Let me know.

The speaker have round magnets. I had the same problem with previous speakers until I found these. The magnets are small enough to clear the round gauges.

*** UPDATE*** Just went to the web site. The speaker list was updated on 4/10/2002. No more 4X6 DELCO replacement speakers. I guess I go the last pair. That's too bad for as hard as it is to find speakers that fit with the correct impedance.

I bought a pair of Delco 4x6 speakers for my dash. They are 8 Ohm GM pn#16197665. I believe the will easily clear the gauges as the are only 1 3/4" tall. I haven't installed the yet, but plan on modifying original brackets or fabricating new ones.
