Count the studs welded in the window channel. That is how many you need.
Also, the picture shown above is a short or medium clip. There are different lengths. I used the wrong ones on my front glass, or, should I say, I used the wrong ones for the size rope caulk I used.
It depends on the diameter of the butyl tape you use and how much you squish the glass down when you install it.
If I had it to do over, I would have the clips installed with the channel ready for the tape. Have the trim handy.
Put the tape in.
Put the glass in, but don't press it down any.
Put the trim on and push it down until it clicks.

I have not tried this method yet, but, it sounds good, huh?:):)
That should keep your trim from being too loose against the glass.
