Marty, I believe the frames for the 4 dr cars were the same as the 2 dr. I think the 66 and 67 frames are interchangable as well.

TW - you are correct. In fact '64 thru '67 the frames are basically the same. The only difference being the rear springs. The '67 will have different spring "perches" than the other frames. So if you put a '66 frame under a '67 body, just make sure you order rear springs for a '66. Otherwise, enjoy.

Here's what the GM P&A manual from 1972 says:

64-66 Chevelle (exc. Sta. Wag., El Camino) 3878327 Note 1,2
64-66 El Camino, Sta. Wag. 3876907 Note 1
67 Chevelle (Conv.) 3893333 Note 1
67 Sta. Wag., El Camino 3893335 Note 1
67-71 Chevelle (4-Dr.)(exc. Sta. Wag.) 3992387
Note 1: When using these frames on Spt. Cpe., Sta. Wag. and 1964-1966 Sedans, transmission support 3931446 must be used.

Note 2: When using on 4 Door Sport Sedan models it will be necessary to rework the inner portion of the Side Members to provide clearance with the longitudinal Reinforcement welded to the underbody.

The left hand side outer member will bear the frame identification with characters stamped ahead of the rear bumper bracket attaching slot.

The top line of the identification will provide the part number of the frame assembly, the name of the manufacturer (abbreviated, ie, Pontiac-Pon, A.O. Smith-S, Parish Pressed Steel-P.P.S.)

The bottom line will provide the month, day, year and shift number.

4,081 SUPPORT-MOUNTING ASSY-MEMBER ASSY., Transmission Mounting
64-71 Chevelle (exc. Conv., El Camino, Monte Carlo) 3949151 SUPPORT ASSY.
64-71 Chevelle (Conv., El Camino) 3838043 SUPPORT ASSY.
