currently i have a colium shifter on my 68 chevelle with a 307 and two speed powerglide. my question is when converting to a floor shifter is there a linkage change or do i have to adapt cable to fit old ( stock ) lingage. all input is welcome

You remove the column shift linkage and use a shifting cable for the floor shifter.
