I saw a post on a Hot Rod site about gauges mounted in the firewall.

I've seen hundreds of photos with a fuel pressure gauge hooked in the supply line, then started thinking about what you might need to monitor when doing engine work:

Vacuum
Fuel Pressure
Oil Pressure
Temp

Just sort of curious what thoughts were about mounting a set of gauges in the firewall area (that's backed by the empty fresh air plenum) for use when working on the engine? Might even be able to mount a fuel pressure gauge in a "sealed box" with a remote drain tube for safety?

I have an oil pressure gauge and vacuum gauge mounted under the hood in a 2 hole panel just under the inside of the fender right under where the hood closes on the passenger side. I use the vacuum gauge to adjust my 2 4's and always like to know I have oil pressure when working under the hood and running the engine.

There was a post here a while back about a guy that had built a fiberglass heater core housing with and area to hold two or three gauges. It was pretty cool, a nice integrated look.

I have a small fuel pressure regulator mounted right off a port in my regulator.

I always thought it would be cool to have the oil gauge mounted right on the oil port port on the front of the block (SBC) and a temp gauge mounted right on the head. Sort of like you see on an industrial engine.
