Recently acquired a 72 and the guy who owned it before me screwed an aftermarket tach right into the soft dash material. I moved the tach to an underdash mount, but now I have two screw holes in the soft dash material. I was thinking some kind of black caulk to fill them. Any other ideas?

To make a dash pad 70-72 with holes drilled in it look new. One way to do this and have it correct,, You guessed it , A new dash pad.
I believe it will be hard to make an invisible " Repair or Patch ".

Those vinyl repair kits are not that bad. Especially if repairing black.

Depending on what condition you hope to keep the car (eg, show car, solid driver, etc), a vinyl repair kit will work well. You'll still see the patch, but if the rest of the interior isn't mint, it'll be fine.
