Maybe. Where's your bypass hose? Some big blocks will run fine without a bypass hose and others won't. A bypass hose helps prevent cavitation and offers early coolant flow to prevent hot spots in the block.

If you have an alternate and adequate bypass method then that sending location should be fine.

My BPE 509 wouldn’t maintain a nice temp without the bypass hose.

Out of curiosity where are you putting your oil pressure gauge? My headers get in the way of every place I can find to put one so I don’t have a oil pressure gauge for now.

I put my oil fitting at the front most DR's side oil plug hole, just above the oilpan. I takes a bit longer to see the pressure rise from there.

The BluePrint block is a new block, not rebuilt. It looks like it does not have the built in bypass like the stock small blocks. You might want to contact BluePrint and ask them for advice. I would run some sort of a bypass, 3 3/16 holes drilled in thermostat, tradition bypass hose, free flowing heater or heater valve with a bypass section when the heater flow is shut off.
