Ive tried the search forum and gained much info on this, but im still stumped. The gauge will move from the middle to the cold when turning on the key. It will not move at all after that except for turning off the key. I have grounded the sending unit/changed sending units. I tried grounding the back of the gauge, but nothing either. Any other solutions im missing here? Is there anyone who repairs these, or makes new rheostats for them? Thanks guys....chris

Here's a pic of the back if a temp gauge. There is a wire resistor on the back between the terminals marked A and B. A is grounded, makes contact with the cluster back, B is insulated from the cluster back with an insulating washer. Basically B is grounded through the resistor. Check this on your gauge. If it still doesn't work I can repair it e-mail if interested.
