My '67 blinker tach finally gave up the ghost. It was acting funny just before it died. It was reading approx. 400RPM slower than the engine was turning. Then it died grounding out my HEI.
Is it worth fixing or should I shell out for a new one? Can you say OUCH!

Chuck,

I know the 67 tachs are repro'd and available through most of the major resto places. Not sure how good of a repro they are, tho. I think they run slightly under $200. I had my 70 tach redone by someone out in SC, cost a little over $200, and they installed a more modern circuit to handle my MSD pulse train (more amplitude than the stock points, I think).
Check the quality of the repro--that will make the decision for you.

Thanks Tony!
The quality of the repo is a concern. I was looking at the original tach, there is a small printed circuit board in there and that's about it. I was wondering if I could replace it?
Anyone have recomendations on who to send it to for repair?
