What are you guys with 200's and 700's doing to make the stud for the TV cable mount without modifying your original quadrajet carb's throttle assembly? This is the last step in my install, I've got some ideas, but would very much like to see what others have done. Pics would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. JN

if the carb is setup for an automatic kickdown, then just snap the cable on.
if the carb is from a 4 speed or big block vehicle, then you may be screwed. they don't always have the lower half of the linkage down there.
if the linkage is there, but no stud, go to your local auto parts store and get a kickdown stud from what i call the "cheap chrome" section- you know, that little corner of the store that has maybe a Performer intake, a set of Edelbrock valve covers for a small block, and a bunch of Mr Gasket chrome parts like breathers and throttle cable mounts. sometimes, they will have the Edelbrock kickdown stud for a few bucks.

Thanks for the input Derrick. I got the stud already. My carb is 7029200 which is for BB with TH400. No kickdown cable, electric. I have a small lower linkage which harbors the return spring, which If I drill for the kickdown stud; I"m sure will be done for the first time I step on the gas pedal (I'll have approx 1mm of steel left on either side of it) It's that narrow.

that little stub isn't long enough for this. i believe some company out there makes a bracket that bolts over the entire linkage, but i can't remember who it is. there was a big writeup on them a couple of years ago in one of the big magazines.
another (cheaper) option is a baseplate off a small block carb of the same vintage that has the proper kickdown linkage on it.

What I did was... Get a 8/32 or a 10/32 machine screw, put it in a die grinder then turn on the bench grinder and do the O.D. and make it look like the head of a Nail and snap on the T.V. cable, Quick and E-Z. Using a machine screw you will have room to adjust to your needs, a little loc tight and thats it. Did this 5 years ago on my wagon. Good luck!!
