Factory hyd roller in a GM "Target" SBC 350/260hp crate engine

Are there provisions in the lifter valley of the GM 350/260hp crate engine for bolting in a factory "spider" retainer and dog bones hyd roller setup?
I've searched and called two GMPP dealers and no one seems to know... :(
All I got was we'll get back to you on that.

Some one that has purchased a Target crate motor ever notice drilled/tapped bosses in the lifter valley???

Hey Bill, since even the GMPP parts dealers don't know the answer, you might try asking if they have a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal, because I'm pretty sure the 2pc was never offered with a roller cam. Just a thought..

Here is the engine with several pictures at Jegs: Click Here I do not see any bosses to bolt down the roller lifter retainer (view the 7th picture).

Ive installed around 20 in the last few years and there is no bosses for the factory spider. Sucks, but now you know.

Now it sucks twice as bad. :)
Thanks y'all for the responses...looking for a place to use a factory roller setup, a mild step nose Reed cam, and a pair of Sportsman II 200cc heads...all sitting here collecting dust.
Guess I'll be stroking the 350 +.060 1pc seal 2 bolt block I've got on hand.

Good point Dave.
I never thought about it that way. Those Target engines are 2pc crank seals. :(

Buy an L31 longblock. Think they still make them, else find a roller block. They are around

I have a 4-bolt "638" block, GM steel crank, and a spare ZZ4 cam, all waiting for me to decide on which way to go. Look around those blocks should be plentiful. But, just FYI: Because it has "638" dont mean its a 4-bolt: I have a complete engine on the stand that is a 2-bolt.

I was unaware they werent setup with a mech pump provision. Some roller blocks are tho. Late 80's are and some 91-99 blocks should be, as i had one of those too as it took a different cam retainer plate than the 89 block i had and i believe the different retainer plate was advertised for 91-99 years

This one has a fuel pump boss but most 1pc seal factory roller blocks do not including the L31 engines which were FI.
And some had the boss but not drilled thru for a pushrod.

My neighbor just bought a 350/290 gm longblock from JEGS and it did not have the tapped holes for the spider.

The 880 vortec blocks have mech fuel pump provisions.
They are also 2 or 4 bolt. You just need to look.

I have a 4 bolt 880 block with mech fuel pump provision. Running a Holley 135gph fuel pump.
