I decided to go with the Factory wheels for now. Help me pick the tires. I think the cars look the best with the tire height about the same front to back. Factory was about 26" were't they? So what is a wide tire that I can fit on my rims for the rear, and what would complement the front? I have searched and looked at every car photographed on this forum. It would be nice to here from some of the factory wheel guys, feel free to post pics.

IMHO the tread width on 215s may be too narrow. Id suggest you go to the tire store and measure the width. I would want no less than 7 full inches. Better yet, see if they will mount a tire for you to see how they look.

Just this past weekend I bought a 225/70 tire for a 15x7" rim and was dissatisfied with the appearance on the rim. It measured less than 7" of tread width, but not a BFG though.

I run 225/70R15 fronts with 275/60R15 rears and not a lot of side bulge with 15x7 Cragars
Do you have some pictures you can share?

Check out the pics in my sig....all black 71 on factory rims. 245's in the back, 235's in the front. The 245's work for me.
Great looking car Seth, good pics too.

Well, as of now its going to be BFG Radial T/A, 235/60-15 up front and 255/60-15 out back. It should make for a good looking and comfortable ride around town. Raised white letters are a must with the stock 5 spoke wheels.

The best deal I could put together was DiscountTireDirect on Ebay. I decided to go with the 235/60 and the 255/60 Radial T/A's.
Price was darn good especially whey you factor in "The Promotion" that ends today Sept. 2nd, a free Pre-Paid Visa card for $100.00.
If your on the fence on picking up some new T/A's, I dont know of a better time.

That's going to look really good, too. Please post some pics when you get it done. IMO, a black 71 on factory rims is one of the best looking Chevelles.

This is a 275-60-15 on the factory wheel. Hope it helps!
Looks great Sean, It sure would be nice if those ET Street Radials had raised white letters.
