Easy question for you guys. Just installed a new regulator and I noticed a post off to one side of the connector terminals. Is this for a ground or should I ignore it and ground to one of the mounting holes? The instructions do not mention this post.

I have a post on the back side of my regulator which is connected to the radiator support for ground. It also has what appears to be a in-line capacitor. I don't think it is a cap., just looks line one.

Can't see what you are looking at. However, is sounds like the tab where the filter capacitor attaches to. If it is not part of the rear back plate, I won't ground it.
