I got a flowmaster exhaust kit and am happy with the fit. I just can't figure out the rear hangers that are on the axle crossmember. Before i just drill some new holes i was hoping i could get a confirmation i'm not backwards? They seem to be for a not off set muffler but this system only works with offsets. If i do have to drill is there a better hanger? This set does have push on washer things to lock it but seems like it will be problematic in the future. Yes i do have clamps on the part that these should go so i could assemble it all.

You need to twist that tailpipe in the rear ofthe muffler and you'll be able to move the tail to the inside of the rear frame rail.
And that hanger in the last picture you can take thatr pin out of the bottom of the hanger and reverse it to put the clamp base closer to the muffler exit

Plus I think offset in and center out mufflers might fit better and your tailpipe's 180* bend, where it goes over the axle tube needs to be more vertical.

Thanks John. The kit did not have any instructions on rear pipe placement but my tank will be rail to rail with 1inch to spare. I think the pipe has to be below or outside the rear frame. The instructions did specify offset - offset mufflers and the problem area is dictated by the crossover which is centered. Without the offset-offset the pipe hits the upper arm. Seems everyone just puts it where they can for the tail pipes. i'll drill another couple of holes and just move over the hangers.

The description of those hangers is a bit confusing (at least to me); are they for '68-'69 or '64-'67, or both?
I'm guessing that some 68'-69' Cutless cars had cut outs in the read bumpers that the tail pipes passes through, and that these particular tail pipe hangers are only for the bumpers which don't have the cut-outs, as well as for ALL THE 64-67 CARS,but that's just a guess on my part.

I don't know how the factory did it, but these look to best tail pipe hangers I ever saw. They get bolted to the frame, and a hose clamp around the tail pipe and around the curved tabs of this hanger secures/anchors the tail pipe.

I recently installed a PYPES 3 inch exhaust kit and it came with very similar hangers like those mentioned above. https://www.amazon.com/Pypes-Exhaust-HGH10-Stainless-Tailpipe/dp/B007ICD0KK
