Hey pil
Heat is the enemy of an exhaust cutout kit. The less expensive kits use cheaper, lower quality electrical components that have a shorter lifespan. Whichever kit you choose, locate the cutout's as far back as possible. Gases have cooled conciderably from the collector to the muffler inlet.
Thanks

Highly recommend DMH!!

For a few reasons
1. Supporting a small American business, call the main number and the owner answers. He's a great guy, total car guy and great to shoot the sh*t with.
2. They are the only ones with standard automotive wiring in their kits. No RCA jacks, Cigarette lighter power adapters etc.. just simple power and ground and easy to work with two pin connectors.
3. They seal better than the QTP, cant hear the faint exhaust leak like I could with other brands.

For me I don't like cutouts or open exhaust. This may ruffle some feathers but I hate going to the track and hearing loud obnoxious cars that only run 12's or 13's. I'd rather be quiet and bust off a single digit pass. I sold my nitrous kit to a friend of mine with a 72 Duster with a 440. There were a bunch of loud cars there, some of them not running real fast. My friend wanted to drop his exhaust and I was against it. His first pass on the nitrous he ran a 9.91 at 140 through the mufflers. This was at a Mopar get together. After that pass he had a ton of people checking out his car because that was the 3rd quickest car at the meet. Nobody paid any attention to his car until it ran because it was quiet. I know I was all over with the camera. I was trying to see what he ran while holding the camera. Didn't work out well and nice people on YouTube let me know.

Hey
Thanks for the recommendation on the location of the cut outs. With “as far back as you can get”, how far back from the end of the headers do you recommend? What mfg of cutouts did you get? Are they remote controlled?
