I had my front tire off and I noticed a fair amount of drag on the wheel from the disc brakes. Should there be any drag at all? I used a big C-clamp and pushed the brake pads slightly apart and the drag was completely gone so its definitely the brakes.

Autoengineer, I'm not a brake expert, but, I think a little drag is ok. When I installed my front disks, I had a tremendous amout of drag, found out that my master cylinder needed shimmed from the booster. I shimmed it with two lock washers, problem gone.

The reason I ask is I'm trying to locate the source of a vibration at around 55mph. I'm wondering if any warpage in the rotors could cause this given that the rotors are slightly touching the rotor even when the brake is not applied.
