I noticed that this morning when I checked my e-mail. Kind of funny, the other day I was talking with a buddy wondering how many people have tried to use his SS#. Guess we know now.

I knew this would happen, it was just a matter of time. while he may have a great system, nothing is fool proof either from dumb luck or masterminds with exceptional abilities. I love this comment from Davis

"There's nothing to indicate my identity has been successfully compromised other than the one instance."

well, once is all it takes. I wonder now if lifelock will file for bankruptcy and not have to pay the 1 million dollar guarantee or payout from the class action lawsuit?

I thought this was funny "Experian accuses LifeLock of deceiving consumers about the breadth of its protection and abusing the system for attaching fraud alerts to credit reports."

As far as I'm concerned, none of the credit bureaus have any right to accuse anyone of abusing the system and of fraud.

They're not accusing anyone of "abusing the system and of fraud". They're accusing the company of "abusing the system FOR attaching fraud alerts TO credit reports."

The bureau is accusing the company of overuse(abuse) of the Fraud Alert request system. I'm guessing that LifeLock might be requesting Fraud Alerts when they're not actually needed. Maybe they put a Fraud Alert on all their member's credit reports so that the bureaus would have to contact every member whenever a credit line is going to be opened. I can see where this could pose problems for the bureaus in causing them to take the extra step ($$) for people that may not have any real reason for having a Fraud Alert.

That is all they are doing - putting a Fraud Alert on your account each month and charge you $10 when you can do this for free yourself! What a scam!!!

I bought Life Lock and willingly agreed to pay the $10.00 per month, I knew I could get it for free but then I wouldn't have a $1 million dollar ID theft insurance policy like I get from Life Lock for only ten dollars per month.
