hit the local swap meet tonight. guy had a 509 400 block thats been sitting outside. and a pair of 906 vortec heads, He thought the vortecs were old school 327 heads, until me and this other guy pointed out the fact they were newer heads. Originally he wanted 100 bucks for the block, heads, valve covers. But after talking to him awhile. I think the price would have been 40 or 50 bucks. Im almost tempted to go back tonight, but I really dont need them, and buying a used block and heads really is a crap shoot, but for 50 bucks or less, Its almost worth the gamble.
On a side note. A kid had a decent 86 350X ATC for 500 bucks! unfortunately the title and the trike didnt match. But 500 bucks for a running 350X ATC is almost like hitting a lottery, unless it comes up stolen of course. jim

That sounds like a good deal, I bought my 250sx from the second owner and it didn't have a title with it.

I've got the title to my bike from a second owner but never changed over from the original. Fairly common in buying dirt bikes by me in the past as not having the title because got lost. No matter because I never pay to get it put in my name anyway, don't need to have plates for them. Easily if the title is in a different name than his it was probably gotten from someone with several vehicles and just given the wrong one.
