Hey guys, quick question...

I've got a new carb, new HEI distributor/new coilpack... and for some reason, when the car warms up, it stops running... by the way this is a 230cu 6 cyl... timing is good and air fuel mix is good... (2.5 turns out on the mix screw) choke is open, coolant flow is good, no overheating...

Any ideas?

What's the idle speed?

Is the idle mix screw set to 2.5 turns because that's what you read it should be or because that's where the engine runs best?

I would check the idle screw (not idle mixture) it sounds like it is warming up on the choke then when the choke disengages (warmed up) the throttle plates are closing and stalling the engine. If the throttle plates are closed completely I dont think the car will ever stay running.

Thanks for the replies, turns out it was a number of things... I filled the tank, and that fixed it for a few minutes... but then the choke kept closing when it got warm, so I wired it open... but the fuel pump gave out, and I tested it every which way, no blocked line, tank is full... so I guess I had an intermittent fuel pump/choke problem. Thanks for the help guys!
