those casters are badass, wish I could have found some like that for mine when I put wheels on it last year. Mine are good but don't have that offset like yours. And I used U- bolts for mine too.

casters are stupid expensive, I've got about $100 in mine as I live in BFE and have to pay through the nose for anything local.

looks good man:thumbsup:
Looks rock solid! Pretty elaborate framework. I've seen too many of these on the forums the last couple of years so I gotta' build my own. I'm collecting parts now but mine will have a more basic frame.

What else do you do in your shop? Looks like an English wheel in the background.
just finfshed mine this week.i used a 4 wheeled 1250 lb engine stand, has 2 forward legs.then i used 1" square tubing for legs up to the motor mounts and welded tubing horizontally(forward, away from engine with diagonal braces)with uprights to mount a radiator on.just ran the engine this afternoon.need too install a battery tray,a few toggles, and a push button for the starter.put a small(6" by 12")plate on the driver's side for the switches and gauges.had some old 2 5/8 auto meters laying around, installed the oil pressure and temp gauges in the plate also.i had been wanting to do this for a year or so.the 502 is on it now,but sold.so i will pull old faithful(orig 327)out from under the shelf, and see if i can put life back into it after 10 years of rest.
I got the casters from ebay. $2400.00 value I paid $200.00
How come fattire68 you just paid that certain amount. What did you do to make that price lower? From $2400.00 value you just only paid $200.0?
Nice stand. Is it in anyway adjustable for different engines and transmissions, or set up for your current combo?
$200.00 was the start price. I was the only bidder
I made it for my bbc. I am planning on making an adjustable mount for a mid plate. So I guess you could make a custom front and mid plate for any combo

Made one at a previous employer. We made a motor mount support that saddles the main frame so you can slide it forwards or backwards. Make the vertical supports for the motor mounts height and width adjustable (jackscrews and slotted mounts) and it will fit anything.
