Chevrolet by the numbers 1965-69, does'nt list a #3963512 block coded [CL] in this book...........Don.

If you post "all the numbers on the front pad", it may prove to be a [CE] "service replacement engine"..

All the CL letter designations are listed for a '71-up 402, which ISN'T a 512 block. Possible it is a CE.

Buy the numbers 70-75 does show the 3963512 block for 70 and 71 actually it states from 68 through 71. All suffix codes, for 70 -75 at least, are three letters like CLK, CLB, CLR, etal.

If it's stamped something like T1025CLx, it's a factory installed engine. If it's something like CE056789, then it's mote than likely a warranty replacement Chevrolet Engine (CE).

Need to supply the entire stamping on the engine pad.
