Hi guys, I have a 65 Drop-Top that I just bought and it has a small block V-8. I was told it is either a 283 or a 327. Not sure though. Here is the number stamped on the flat spot on the left front T0II3DE . It has the square block with one hump in the middle on the head. Thanks for any help.

"DE", 1965 Chevelle, 195hp/283 2-barrel, P/G tranny.

Heads should be -290, '68/'69, 307/327, 1.72"/1.5" valves, single-hump jobbers with bolt-holes.
