Well, I finally got my new M&H forward lamp and engine harnesses installed, and everything seems to be working fine. Special thanks to Jody Sirmans for emailing a diagram on hooking up the horn relay.

My question...I have a wire left over, where does it go? At the extreme far end of the engine harness, there are three wires...a purple wire and a yellow wire for the starter solenoid, and a long orange wire with a round rubber boot on the end that seems to be made to fit over a spade-type terminal. Does anybody know what this orange wire is? The old harness had this same orange wire, but it had been cut and wrapped up with tape when I got the car. I have no idea what this wire is, all the gauges are working, lights work, engine runs fine...I'm baffled.

Thanks

should be the power wire for your heater
blower motor, it is under the passenger side
fender.

If you have an A/C car, the orange wire is unused, just tape it back to the harness.

Thanks guys, my car is a factory AC car, and the heater blower worked fine on the way to work this morning, so Leo must be correct. Thanks as always for the help.

Mike,
I'm glad to hear you've got the Chevelle running again.
Jody's the man! All us Marietta boys gotta stick together.

Now, back to the head port job, right?

Yeah Bill, now I can get focused again on building my other motor. I'm going to a friend's house tomorrow to get a scrap head to practice on. I've been reading as much as possible about porting heads, and I'm all fired up to give it a shot.
