My son's 70 chevelle has an orig wiring harness in the engine comp. Over the years it looks like this thing has been modified and what not to the point where there are loose wire ends, diff colored wires etc... It's a mess. What would the basic connections be for this car? Is there a way to tell where all these should go?

If you have that many wires I would reccomend either a factory assembly manual or a factory wiring manual. Both of these sources will show the wire colors and connection location.

Thes factory manuals are priceless when restoring a car or just replacing a wire harness. The money will be well spent.

Bounce over to Pep Boys. The Haynes Chevelle book has a wiring diagram for that car. About $15.00.
