The year of the car might help. I'm going to take a guess that the K means McKinnon Industries who cast the engine, a Canadian company and the F for the month of manufacture = June, 17 for the day of the month. I think the others are casting #s, look at www.mortec.com for the decode.

Take a closer look at the pad and see if you may have misread or missed some digits.

The should be two distinct series of digits that resemble this example;


T0521TC

7N123456

or very similar codes, one is engine code, other is vin derivative. Unless you can get more info, there is little anyone can tell from what you have so far.
