I am trying to find out if a GM Electronic ignition distributor will fit in a 69 Chevelle with a Big Block without hitting the fire wall. If anyone has been down this road before let me know what your results were. Thanks Phil
I used the Pertronic's Ignitor in my stock distributor and everything fits great. Can't even tell the difference by looking. Check out my "how to" at: http://www.clark.net/pub/chevelle/ignitor.htm
There is a LOAD of info concerning the Ignitor in the "Team Chevelle" archives. Check it out.

For stock appearance and electronic ignition, use a stock, vacuum advance, point type dist and add a PerTronix conversion unit plus a hi output coil such as an MSD Blaster 2 or PerTronix Flame Thrower--40,000 volts. It's all TOTALLY contained inside the dist cap and takes up less space than an HEI.
But don't misunderstand me, the HEI is a great dist.
