The factory installed coil power supply wire, from the bulkhead to the coil, is a resistor wire. When installing an HEI distributor you need to either bypass the resistance wire or remove it from the bulkhead connector and install a new wire from the bulkhead to the HEI dist. You can bypass it by connecting a new wire to the IGN terminal at the fuse block then route it through the firewall to the dist. I prefer to remove the wire from the bulkhead then install a new wire from there to the dist. In either case I recommend you use 12-gauge wire.
i have twelve volts on the pink one Not sure what pink wire you’re referring to. On the dash side of the bulkhead the coil wire is connected to a #12 pink wire.
