I bought an Edelbrock 750 w/ electric choke and plan on mounting it on my stock manifold with the 3/4" square bore to spread bore adapter. I also want to keep my stock cowl induction air cleaner. I know i'm gonna need to eliminate the 2" stock carb to air cleaner spacer, but will this let the air cleaner clear the electric choke and fuel inlet? Can someone help me out with this? Thanks for any input!

Joe,the factory air cleaner will hit the fuel line if you are using an Edelbrock carb.
Since you are using the stock intake, you still might be able to use the factory carb to air cleaner spacer. You you still hace planety of air cleaner seal to hood clearance, even with the adapter.

edelbrocks are very sensitive to fuel pressure. i have been having fits with the one i just put on my 66 Elky with flooding after shutdown and dying in gear at stops. i checked fuel pressure and found the new mechanical fuel pump i'm using was making over 10 psi. i added a regulator at 5 psi and the carb is working great.

The electric choke may be a problem. The Edelbrock and AFB's are wide carbs and their electric chokes stick out much farther than other carb's. If your adapter is 3/4" you might still have room for enough spacer under the air cleaner to clear the choke.
