I just put an Edelbrock 1405 600cfm with electric choke and vacuum secondaries onto my 70 Chevelle with a 307 and 2pd powerglide. My question is this is there a way to tune th e carb so that the secondaries open up later than they do now. The car is a daily driver, so I need to see a little better mileage, tho that's not why I have the car. Right now they seem to open up at about 1/4 throttle. I'd like to see them open up around 1/2 half throttle. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The manual and their website go into this a bit. I have the same carb, but manual choke and I have no problems with the secondaries opening up to early. But these performer 600 series carbs are built for performance and not efficiency. I believe the 500 series are built more for efficiency in daily drivers. Check out their web site at www.edelbrock.com they have a lot of good info. in there, even an online owners manual for your carb, in case you lost yours.
Good luck.
