Dont know much about that fuel nor do I see pumps that often but got me to thinking.

If it burns that much cleaner, could it help you get through smog in an engine that typically may fail due to discplacement/cam etc?

 I'd guess the answer is no overall (it does seem to be 30% "cleaner" carbon-wise). E85 emissions seem to be on a par with Gas -- perhaps slightly better, but not worth the effort. E85 seems to me to be a make-you-feel-good thing. Fuel mileage is worse than Gas (almost 25% worse!), E85 costs more (your tax dollars are used to make E85 less expensive at the pump than Gas) based on Fuel Economy, etc., etc. Anyway, I just don't see it, I believe a sharp tune would work out better for what you want. I used to run The Wife's 2015 Impala on E85, but no longer. I've never put anything but Gas in the "Bu. However, if I live long enough, I do see a battery in the 'Bu's future...

Feel free to change my opinion.

I have personally added E85 to my 1977 C10 to pass smog in CA. It worked AWESOME! Burned cleaner than a Prius so the tech said. I will post a picture with the results if I can find it. I just tuned the Qjet for the e85 and added the max timing for smog. E85 mix was probably around 70%.
